Do I need to have a background in children’s education?
Not at all. Some of our owners do have classroom experience, and others come from completely different walks of life. All you need is a willingness to learn proven operational systems and teaching techniques, all of which are taught in your initial onboarding and continuing education training.
Do I have to be a trained chef?
Nope! Young Chefs Academy recipes and curriculum are curated by experts and provided to you. All you have to do is follow instructions and work with our training and development team and you’ll be all set!
How do I get teachers?
Most Young Chefs Academy franchise owners find talented instructors from local colleges and universities with culinary schools, and also through advertising and good old-fashioned networking. Many have also hired graduates of their own programs!
Do I have my own website?
Yes. As part of your Young Chefs Academy franchise agreement, we will build and help you maintain a site devoted to your specific market.
Do we market on social media?
Yes, and we are always collaborating with franchise owners to help them design and launch specific, targeted posts and ads to build awareness of both Young Chefs Academy in general as well as specific camps, workshops and more.
What makes a good location?
You’ll want a highly visible storefront space in a busy part of town. Commercial, mixed-use shopping centers work very well for Young Chefs Academy locations, particularly those near schools. It’s also a good idea, if possible, to choose a location where there is the capability to expand and add kitchens as your business grows.
How many employees do I need?
It’s best to start small, with one or two teachers and grow out from there as business increases. You’ll be able to teach as well, of course, but will be busy running the business and marketing it to the community, so your time will be limited, at least early on.
Do I have input on curriculum?
Absolutely. We have highly trained professionals who curate our lesson plans, and they value franchise owner input. Those insights from the field help improve not only current lessons for every age level, they inform the decisions we make about upcoming lessons, camps and workshops.
