Thyme for Kids - a family, food, and franchising blog
Into food, family, or franchising? You're in the right place. The recipe for blogging here at YCA is to keep it simple, entertaining, educational, and to the point. We take one simple concept and give you our unique perspective.
From our franchisees, our students, or our corporate staff - if you hear it here, you know it's all us, all original and all fresh. We might tell you the story of a bright young chef who taught his instructor a few things, then next maybe the latest culinary trend (beef tongue sliders?). There is nothing ordinary about any of our franchises, and we delight in sharing the extraordinary "scoop"! Enjoy, comment, and please share.

FOX's MasterChef Junior Comes to Young Chefs Academy!

Thyme for Kids… a family, food, and franchising blog

Thanks to YCA Fort Worth Owner Melissa Weiner, MasterChef Junior Comes to Young Chefs Academy!

Last Saturday, Young Chefs Academy (YCA) of Fort Worth hosted a charity event with Chefs Riley, Ryan Kate and Jianna from the hit show, MasterChef Junior. The fun interactive day was a huge hit filled with laughter, new friends, and of course lots of cooking!  Guests made pasta from scratch and collected autographs from our reality TV show hosts, cooking up fun for great causes!  The kids chose Texas animal shelter, Animal Hope and field trips to YCA for local special needs students as beneficiaries.

"Can I Live Here?" - Those Kids!

Thyme for Kids… a family, food, and franchising blog

A recent visit to a YCA for no reason reminds us of every reason…

Occasionally we like to pop into one of our locations for no reason. Last week, we stopped into our Frisco location, owned and operated by Nora and Diego Lerner. We had a special guest with us who had never seen the inside of a YCA, so on the way to the airport the gracious staff at Frisco welcomed us in to make ourselves comfortable.

What happened during the next 15 minutes was pure entertainment! Those kids! We met first-timers, regulars, and one Master Chef. They were laughing and happy and proud of their creations. We heard...

"I'm in love with my red sauce!"

"I can't wait to make dinner tonight"

"We made spinach gnocchi.. that's why it's green"

And an astounded mom saying, "and she's eating it!"
